Adding to the Noise: High Fidelity

I'm sure I'll get around to writing much more about High Fidelity in time, but for now here's one of my favorite items from the film. It just so happens to be the very first line spoken.
Rob Gordon:
What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?

I love this film! Nick Hornby is such an amazing writer! I've read most of his books...I also quite like the film adaptation of Fever Pitch (the old one with Colin Firth) and, of course, About a boy !

Yea, the writing is certainly one of the better parts of High Fidelity. I'm a pretty big fan of About a Boy. The soundtracks for both of these films are immensely enjoyable.

It's such a smart film. I hope I can do it justice when I write about it.
