My Top 5 Bond Songs

I need something to distract me from all these wildfires around here. So, in 'celebration' of the new Bond film (I'll maybe catch it closer to Thanksgiving, so no spoilers please), here are my top 5 Bond Songs.

5. "The Living Daylights"- A-ha
Ok. I'm really only familiar with two A-ha songs. This one, and "Take on Me." The later because of its stellar music video. The former because it accompanies a pretty nifty Bond movie.

4. "You Know My Name"- Chris Cornell
I was actually really impressed with this theme. It may have been the fact that it was nice to see that the Bond theme didn't continue the way of Die Another Day. It kind of celebrates the previous Bond films while still being relevant to the plot of Casino Royale.

3. "For Your Eyes Only"- Sheena Easton
My mother likes this one, so I'll put it on here for her.

2. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"- John Barry
This theme almost rivals the original James Bond theme for the feelings it elicits within me. I think a version of it was used in a teaser trailer for Pixar's The Incredibles.

1. "Live and Let Die"- Paul McCartney and Wings
I don't know that there will be a Bond song that's as kick-awesome as "Live and Let Die." I even love the cover by Guns N' Roses.

Summing Up:
  1. Live and Let Die
  2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
  3. For Your Eyes Only
  4. You Know My Name
  5. The Living Daylights

What? No "A View to a Kill"?

"Live and Let Die" is a great song. I also happen to be fond of "The World is Not Enough".

I guess Duran Duran didn't make the cut.

I think one of my favorite Bond scores is Tomorrow Never Dies (I bring this up becuase I think the score for The World is Not Enough is also pretty stellar). I find myself hoping some psychic friend will know to buy me the soundtrack someday...or I could just shell out the 15 bucks. Either way.

David Arnold is a pretty nifty Bond composer. He's been on the job since Tomorrow Never Dies.

Thats a very good list, I still think Goldfinger is my favorite.

It's hard to listen to Goldfinger for me because it's been spoofed so much.
